• The liquid penetrant Inspection is a highly used
  and inexpensive method of testing for gaps,
  holes, and other breaks in non-porous surfaces
  such as metals and plastics. The steps involved
  in the dye penetrating inspection process are
  relatively simple. First, the item being tested
  must be prepared by being thoroughly cleaned and
  dried. The dye is then brushed or sprayed onto
  the surfaceor the item is submerged into a tub
  of the liquidand is left on the part for a
  sufficient time to allow maximum permeation.
