3Clear the area-
You can use a sod cutter or flat shovel to clean
the area
4Level the area-
Ensure the area is flat by using a laser level or
large level. Rake the dirt to lower areas or away
from higher areas
5Measure and mark the area-
Use chalk or spray painting to mark the 4 corners
of the court. A regular size bocce ball court is
about 13 feet by 91 feet
6Make the frame of the court-
Use wood to make the frame of the bocce ball
court
7Secure the frame-
Use wooden screws to fix the frame straight and
sturdy
8Lay down the base rock-
The base rock should be two to three inches
deep. Load in the base rock into the court area
and tamp it down using a compactor
9 lay down the decomposed granite-
Compact the area with granite. Once the small
rock particles get compacted it creates a strong
surface
10Recheck the level-
If any areas are too low, add more decomposed
granite to raise the area
11Apply oyster-shell flour-
Apply a thick coat of oyster-shell flour and rake
it until its smooth.
12Paint the court-
The sideboards and backboards should be painted
to indicate the location of the 4 lines and
central lines
