PDAPersonal Digital Assistant

• Term coined by John Sculley at the Consumer
  Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada in January
  7, 1992 as he referred to Apples Newton device
• Earlier devices were available in mid-1970s
  (advance calculators, and electronic organizers)
• PDAs are often referred to as Palms or Palm
  Pilots after an early device created by Palm,
  Inc.
• Originally designed as PIM Devices (Date Book,
  Address Book, Task List, Memo Pad, calculator,
  and etc.)
