ALTERNATE ASSESSMENT (LDAA)
Students who are receiving social studies
instruction in TEKS at grades 8, 10, and 11, but
for whom the TAKS is inappropriate are required
to take a locally determined alternate assessment
or LDAA. The LDAA and the test expectation is
determined by the students ARD committee. ALL
Means ALL!
12There is no state-mandated or state-approved
list of appropriate LDAAs.The ARD committee
should choose an assessment that is most closely
aligned with the instruction the student is
receiving in the TEKS
- LDAA administrations must take place before the
corresponding TAKS/SDAA administration dates.
13SOMETHING NEW!
- LDAA data is recorded on the TAKS answer
document. This procedure eliminates the need to
submit these data separately to the Division of
Special Education at TEA as has been required in
previous years.
