2Find the best leaf for the project
Me and Tyshawna were looking for the best leaf
for the project. My legs were itchy because of
the tall weeds Ashley
I looked for the leaves that are unique and
pretty from our garden and around the AMR Teen
Center. -Tyshawna
3Time to choose a crayon color and position the
leaf artistically. ..
We were putting the leaves under the paper and
colored it over with crayons to trace the shape
of the leaf. It was very hard to do the big leaf
because it cannot fit on the paper. I just trace
whatever was on the paper. My hands hurt after
that.

4Let start rubbing the leaves and see what happens
I was coloring the leaf and I liked it a lot
because it was fun. I never knew that you could
actually color a leaf like that .

I was rubbing one leaf at a time because I want
to color the leaf in different colors.

5These are SOME OF THE AMAZING IMPRINTS THAT WE
SAW WHILE DING THE ACTIVITY. Really COOL!!!
I was coloring the different kinds of leaves
that I found outside with different colors. I
learned to be creative by using different colors.
I liked what I did.

6The imprints that we made from the leaf rubbing
activity are posted in our teen center wall. What
a work of art!
These are the samples of other teens who
participated in the activity. It looked
interesting. I thought it was pretty fun!

7Highlights of the leaf rubbing activity
- I learned how to be creative using things from
nature and that we dont always have to use
things that are bought from the store. In the
end, I was surprise to that you could make a
pretty creation out of a leaf. -
- Tyshawna Hankerson - I never actually imagined that you could
produce a pretty picture by rubbing a leaf. -
- Jaylin Banks - Seeing the designs that I created from rubbing
the leaves made me feel proud and exhilarating. -
- Alyssa Williams - I like how it turned out. I was surprise it
came out so well. I didnt think that beginners
would do it well. I would way change the way I
rub the crayon. I learned that when you lightly
rub the crayon on the paper, it will not come out
as well as you want it to be. -
