17BUI Enforcement Seminars
- This years schedule of BUI seminars has one
ongoing (Michigan) and two regular seminars
remaining, in Montana and Indiana - NASBLA will present the first BUI Train the
Trainer seminar this June in Nashville,
Tennessee
18Staged Collisions
- This is a two-year project. The first staged
- collisions will be held this fall in Virginia.
NASBLA still needs boats donated for use in
staged collisions. Anyone with possible boat
donation should contact Chris Moore at NASBLA
office.
19Field Sobriety Test Validation
- This is a multi-year project, starting 2007 and
scheduled to be completed in 2009. - Work began with collection of more than 550 BUI
arrest records from 10 states. Preliminary
results show HGN is best candidate for tests in
marine environment.
20Boating Accident Reporting (BAR) Manual
- First draft been completed and submitted to
BAIRAC for review and approval. - After BAIRAC update, Coast Guard-449, Standard
Method of Reporting, must be approved by the
Coast Guard.
