44Resolution Number 4 Updating the
discrimination policy. We encourage President
Michael Adams to include sexual orientation to
the Universitys policy against discrimination.
Adams has had nearly two years to make a decision
on a recommendation to change the policy. We want
the University to take an official stance on this
issue and show that it is is committed to
providing a safe and respectful environment in
which to study and work.
45March 2006 Two of the four Student Government
Association parties ask Lambda Alliance for an
endorsement.
46After intensive questioning, Lambda endorses its
first SGA party
47and the Golden Ticket wins.
48Jamie and Matt, SGAs new leaders, make the
non-discrimination/anti-harassment policy and
domestic partner benefits a top priority.

Lambda Alliance protests and asks faculty and
staff not to give to the Archway to Excellence
campaign until the non-discrimination/anti-harassm
ent and benefits policies are implemented.
50April 2006 SGA passes a resolution to request the
implementation of the non-discrimination/anti-hara
ssment policy and domestic partner benefits.

treatment of LGBT students on campus to President

52April 25, 2006 The Social Justice Committee wins
the Bulldog Vision Award at the Student
Organization and Achievement Award Ceremony.

decision on the non-discrimination/anti-harassment
and benefits policies.

55On Tuesday, President Adams chose to not
implement a 2-year old policy that would have
protected sexual orientation under UGAs
non-discrimination policy. Students and faculty
alike supported the measure, but Dr. Adams
ignored them.

in recognition of similar actions at sister

it seems appropriate for UGA to implement the
