Title: Light in the Darkness

Light in the Darkness
2
Why did the chicken cross the road?
3
We don't really care why the chicken crossed the
road. We just want to know if the chicken is on
our side of the road, or not. The chicken is
either against us, or for us. There is no middle
ground here.
4
Although I voted to let the chicken cross the
road, I now have a better plan for the chicken to
cross the road.
5
Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly
see the satellite image of the chicken crossing
the road.
6
The chicken was forced to cross the road
because of the unscrupulous policies of
pharmaceutical companies. I intend to return the
chicken to this side of the road to confront
these criminals in a court of law.
7
In my day, we didn't ask why the chicken crossed
the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed
the road and that was good enough for us.

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the
Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may
know him better. I pray also that the eyes of
your heart may be enlightened in order that you
may know the HOPE to which he has called you,
the riches of his glorious inheritance in the
saints, and his incomparably great power for us
who believe. Ephesians 117-19
23
We have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and
of the love you have for all the saints-- the
faith and love that spring from the HOPE that is
stored up for you in heaven and that you have
already heard about in the word of truth, the
gospel that has come to you. Colossians

Hope is one of the theological virtues. This
means that a continual looking forward to the
eternal world is not, as some modern people
think, a form of escapism or wishful thinking,
but one of the things a Christian is meant to
do. It does not mean that we are to leave the
present world as it is.
If you read history, you will find that those
who did most for the present world were just
those who thought the most of the next.
It is since Christians have largely ceased to
think of the other world that they have become
so ineffective in this.
Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in.
Aim at earth and you will get neither.
