Title: PALINET OCLC Hour

PALINET OCLC Hour
  • Introducing the Connexion Client

2
The Client
  • is a cataloging interface that runs under the
    Windows operating system
  • requires Windows Me, 2000 or XP
  • is software that must be downloaded from the
    Product Services Web, located at
    http//www.oclc.org/connexion (you will need your
authorization and password to get it).

3

Microsoft .NET Framework
  • The client is built on the Microsoft .NET
    technology. .NET Framework supports software
built using current Microsoft development tools.
  • You must have the .NET Framework Version 1.1 or
    higher installed on your workstation
  • If it is not already installed, the client
    installation program automatically installs it
    when you install the client.
  • If installing .NET Framework with the client, you
must log on to Windows with local administrator
privileges. If .NET is already installed, you can
install and run the client with lower level
    privileges.
  • To check whether you already have the .NET
Framework installed, in Windows, go to Start
Control Panel Add or Remove Programs, and check
for Microsoft .NET Framework in the list of
    installed programs.
  • You may want to consider installing .NET ahead of
time to make the client installation faster.
  • .NET Framework is available from Microsoft at
    http//msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/
