2What did men wear in Colonial America?
Men and boys wore pants called breeches that went
down to there knees, long linen shirts and
leather shoes. In the winter they wore wool
shirts, heavy boots, leather leggings, over
coats, wool mittens, and caps. They wore long
frock coats.
3What Kinds of Clothes did Children Wear in
Colonial America?
Young boys and girls wore dresses that were tied
in the back. Boys wore dresses until they were
about seven years old then they wore pants called
breeches they also wore long linen shirts. Boys
and girls wear buckle shoes. Their shoes were
made out of leather. Boys breeches have buckles.
Boys wear wool stockings Girls wore corsets and
petticoats under there dresses. Girls wear cloaks
to cover their hair and dress to keep them warm.
Girls wore hats.
4Why did toddlers wear pudding caps and what were
they made from?
Toddlers wore pudding caps to protect their heads
in case they fell. Pudding caps were padded. They
were made from velvet, horse hair stuffing, and
leather. Toddlers were pudding caps until they
were about 5 or 6 years old.
