2What Does the NAEP Math Assessment Measure?
- NAEP measures the mathematics skills of fourth-,
eighth-, and twelfth-grade students. According
to the NAEP Mathematics Framework, developed by
the National Assessment Governing Board, the NAEP
math assessment measures students ability in
mathematics content and mathematics complexity.
3Mathematics Content
- The NAEP mathematics framework is divided into
five content domains - Number Properties and Operations,
- Measurement,
- Geometry,
- Data Analysis and Probability, and
- Algebra.
4Mathematics Complexity
- The NAEP mathematics framework is divided into
three levels of complexity (low, moderate, and
high) with skills such as - Recall
- Perform Procedures
- Solve Problems
- Understand Concepts
- Reason
- Make Connections
- Analyze Assumptions
