3What do I need to do to use my Blackberry with
Microsoft Outlook?
- Please complete the following the order
- listed below
- Back up your Blackberry
- Login to Microsoft Outlook
- Create a Blackberry Contact (start pg. 4)
- Create Re-Direct rule (start pg. 6)
- Sync up Calendar with Outlook (start pg. 12)
4Creating Create a Blackberry Contact
Step 1 Click on Contacts Step 2 Click on
New
5Creating Create a Blackberry Contact
Step 3 Type name in Full Name, Type in e-mail
(username_at_mycingular.blackberry.net, and click on
Save and Close.
6Creating Re-Direct rule for Blackberry
Step 1 Go to Tools gt Rules and Alerts
7Step 2 Click on New Rule
Step 3 Select Start from a blank rule, Select
Check messages when they arrive, Click on Next
8Step 5 Select redirect it to people or
distribution list then click on link for people
or distribution list.
Step 4 Select where my name is in the To or
Cc box or just where my name is in the To box
based on preference
9Step 6 Click on drop-down and select Contacts.
Step 7 Select Blackberry contact and click OK.
10Step 8 Click Next.
Step 9 Choose exceptions (if preferred) Click
Next.
11Step 10 Name the rule and select Finish.
Step 11 Confirm rule is checked to enable.
Click OK.
12Calendar Sync Process
- Step 1 Double-click on the Intellisync icon
- Step 2 Click on Configure PIM
13- Step 3 The Configuration window will pop up
- Step 4 Click on Choose
14- Step 5 Click on MS Outlook under the Available
Translation heading - Step 6 Click on Synchronize under the Operation
heading
15- Step 7 Make sure that the Folder Name box
contains your name - Step 8 Click OK
16- Step 9 Make sure that your calendar is now going
to sync with MS Outlook - Step 10 Click on the Configure drop down button
17- Step 11 Select Advanced Settings
- Step 12 Under the Date Range tab select
Transfer only Future Items (may already be
selected by default).
18- Step 13 Click OK
- Step 14 Click OK to complete the Configuration
process
19- Step 15 Click Synchronize Now
The Calendar sync process will run within the
Intellisync application between your Blackberry
and MS Outlook
20- Step 16 In MS Outlook click on the Calendar
button - Step 17 You will
- see the Day view
- with the duplicate
- entries from the
- sync process
21- Step 18 On the Calendar window pane Right Click
to bring up the shortcut menu - Step 19 Select Advanced Find from the list
22- Step 20 You are searching within your Calendar,
with a Search for the word G - Step 21 Click Find Now
23- Step 22 A list of all the calendar items with a
G in the subject line will appear in the
results window -
- Notice the number of
- items found
24- Step 23 Select all of the items in the list by
clicking on the first one and holding down the
shift key click on the last one in entire list. - Step 24 Click Delete after all the calendar items
have been selected - Then close the Advanced Find window
25- Step 25 All of the calendar items with a G in
the subject line have been removed when you have
returned to your calendar
26- Step 26 Open up the Intellisync application for
your Blackberry - Step 27 Click on the Synchronize Now button
27- Step 28 During the sync process you will be
prompted with a window Confirm Calendar
Deletions which will show that it is going to
remove the entries from your Blackberry that were
deleted within MS Outlook - Click on the Details button for more information
- You will see that it
- is only deleting items
- with a G in the subject
- line
- Then click the Close button
28- Step 29 Click on Accept to continue with the
process
Upon Completion of the Synchronization process
your Blackberry and MS Outlook will contain the
same information without duplicate entries
29The process to sync up your address book works in
the same manner, however, since everyone does
something different with their Blackberry Address
book individual assistance can be provided
