What a rockin semester we have shared together!
We have built a team whose primary focus is on
student performance and achievement. As I look
back on all of the initiatives, events, meetings,
conversations, pep sessions, and work I am proud
of where we are at this point in the school year.
I hope that your Christmas break finds you
enjoying all of the blessings of being connected
with Crittenden County Schools. You can bet it
is one of my blessings this year. Thanks for
allowing me to share this journey as your
superintendent.
3- KUDOS to the year book staff- The 2008 CCHS
Rockette yearbook won the following awards at the
University of Southern Indianas High School Day.
Good job Mrs. Duvall. - Best Yearbook Academic Life Section 2nd
place - Best Yearbook Photo 2nd place
- Best Yearbook Student Life Section 2nd place
- KUDOS to Greg Hewitt for coming in on short
notice and helping out. - KUDOS to our Maintenance Guys (Greg, David,
Brian) for tackling the sewer problem at the
elementary. This was the true meaning of doing
whatever it takesTHANKS guys - KUDOS to Kathleen Guess for printing picture of
Proficient and Distinguished students. - KUDOS to the cafeteria girls for a great job
while Janet was out for surgery. Everyone
appreciates everything that you do to make the
food service program so great! - KUDOS to Michelle Orr-she will be graduating on
the 12th with my masters from Campbellsville! - KUDOS to Freda Roberts for coming up with fun
activities to teach her kids the concept of prime
factorization. She consistently chooses Math
Students of the Week and has a special desk in
her room for them to sit at. Way to go Freda! - KUDOS Michelle McConnell for doing an awesome job
helping the kiddos prepare their portfolio
pieces. The kids love her class! - KUDOS to CCES for working together and keeping a
positive attitude! - KUDOS to Angela Starnes for doubling up on
classes to make others lives easier - KUDOS to Mrs. Bramblett for giving to
students!!! - KUDOS to all elementary school STLP sponsors,
especially Carol Harrison and DeLois Paddock.
Their students earned a trip to the State
Competition to be held in May. - KUDOS to the bus drivers for all the help that
you provide- keep up the great work!!!
4- KUDOS to Mike Hamilton for helping a 2nd grader
fish a "treasure" out of the lunch garbage. You
went above and beyond!!! - KUDOS to Kay Kirby, Joya Poat, Jennifer Beverly,

McClure and Carolyn Traum for being great Team
Leaders!! - KUDOS to CCES Faculty Staff for being giving
and compassion toward one of our students in the
loss of his father recently. - KUDOS to Ruth McClure for her work with
students, and their parents, that have sensory
disorders. You may have a calling a a full time
"brusher"!! - KUDOS to Kayla Travis and Barbara Hunt for their
patience and consistency with a behavior
disordered child. - KUDOS to the Crittenden County Middle School
Student Council and students/staffcollected over
1400.00 to date for Community Christmas - KUDOS to Don Winters, who will be graduating
Murray State University Dec. 13 with a bachelors
degree in Telecommunications System Management. - KUDOS to Mr. Suggs for a great start as his first
year as STLP Coordinator! - KUDOS to Deonna McCord and the FEA for the awards
they received. - KUDOS to Laura Poindexter for all of her hard
work for make the DC trip a success! - KUDOS to Shannon Hodge for bringing in a speaker
to discuss the French/Indian War. - KUDOS to Cathy Oliver for making core content
posters for every single teacher. - KUDOS to Denise Lynn for graduating Dec.13, 08
from Murray State University with her Masters in
Reading and Writing with a 4.0 GPA! - KUDOS to Stephanie Chambliss, Ashley Johnson,
Becky Truitt, Johnna West for doing such a great
job and completing cycle 1 of their internship! - Kudos to Angela Starnes for taking on extra
students in her classes when other special
classes have been cancelled. Thanks Angela!!! - Kudos to Coach Starnes and the Rocket Football
team for winning a Regional Title - KUDOS to Dr. Y for modeling a GREAT pep

5The Council of Councils Meeting was held on
November 3rd at the Crittenden County High School
Library. Student Council members, SBDM, School
Board Members, and administrators joined together
to talk about data, what is working and how
things could be made better.
6WE ARE LEARNING
- KLA visited our school district on November
20th. Abby Johnson from Marshall County is
pictured presenting Walk-thru information.
Marshall, Graves, Webster, McLean Henderson
participated.
7WE ARE LEARNING
The second C-4 Session was held in Tolu on
November 21st. This is the Crittenden County
Community Conversation where members of the
community can gather with the Board Members,
administrators and voice questions and concerns.
It allows for an open line of communication. This
is another way that WE are learning from people ?
8PATHWAY ACADEMY UPDATE
- What is the purpose?
- Pathway Academy is a tremendous opportunity for
students that need a second chance. They will
receive a high school diploma through this. - What is the current enrollment?
- 13 students
- James Berry has completed PATHWAY!!!
- He will graduate in January.

12- Full Body Fit Camp
- 2009

- You will sculpt, tone and lose weight, during
our 6 week fit camp. We will have a great
combination of personal training and nutritional
advise to get your year started right. All
Fitness levels will benefit from fit camp. We
will have 3 different levels of classes,
Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. We will help
you receive you results you want, whether you
want to lose weight, tone up, become more fit or
just feel better, we will be there for you. You
will receive a challenging workout for your
fitness level, nutritional advise, meal plans
will be available as part of the program. Your
beginning weight, measurements, body fat
percentage, can be privately documented and
monitored during the 6 weeks to insure your
progress, if you would like. All participants
will be evaluated before Fit Camp begins for
fitness level placement. - WHEN WHEREFull Body Fit Camp will run 5 Days
a Week, Monday through Friday. You join the
session time, which works best for your schedule. - Morning Sessions (MON - FRI) 830 am, Location
to be announced. - Afternoon Sessions (MON - FRI) at 400 pm,
LOCATION CCES Multi-purpose room. - Evening Sessions MON, WED FRI at 600 pm and
TUES THURS at 630 pm-CCES Multi-purpose room - You are not required to attend every session
however the more you attend the better results
you will receive. - We also offer an "extended program" for those who
wish to continue working out after Full Body Fit
Camp is completed. - DATES RATES
- Full Body Fit Camp will begin January 5, 2009 and
end February 12, 2009, with a special Celebration
on February 13. - You will find Full Body Fit Camp to be a
comprehensive, educational and physically
challenging exercise program. Full Body Fit Camp
is cost efficient because it is taught in a group
setting - which allows us to pass the savings on
to you! - Register soon Sessions will fill quickly.
- Paid Registration by November 30th, 124.50.
You may make 3 payments of 41.50 or 2 payments
of 62.25 all payments must be received by
November 30th. - Late Registration after November 30th, 149.50.
- All paid registrations by December 15th will
receive a Fit Camp Tee Shirt, at the completion
of Fit Camp. - Gift Certificates are available, Great Gift for a
new mom or that hard to buy for person. -

- Crittenden County Leadership Team (Board of
Education Administration) have developed a plan
for Crittenden County Schools called the BIG 6.
These are the overarching goals of our district.
