THE BASIC QUESTION (1)

• 1) Where we can find woodland in Hong Kong today?
• In Hong Kong, there are many places covered with
  vegetation, but the densities are small among
  most of them. Although Hong Kong does not have
  dense forest, we can still find woodlands in the
  New Territories, country parks, Hong Kong Islands
  etc. today.

• 1. Density of vegetation The condition of there
  is hot and wet so the density is high.
• 2. Floor of the woodland (light or dark) It is
  dark because the leaves stop light passing
  through.
• 3. The variety of vegetation A large variety of
  vegetation. It also contains small plants like
  lichens.
• 4. The height of the vegetation The height of
  the vegetation is very short. They are about 5 m.
• 5. The roots of the vegetation Some of the trees
  have buttress roots and these are about 5 m.
• 6. The shape and sizes of leaf The leaves are
  broad and large. Some of them have drip tips.

• WHAT ARE THE PROBLEMS OF WOODLAND IN H.K.?
• The problems of the woodland is less than
  before because the government wants to develop
  new town ,so government cuts some woodland to
  build the buildings. Moreover, Hong Kong develops
  more new town and the woodland will decrease.
  Woodland decreases and more pollution appear.

• What are the causes of the problems???
• In Hong Kong nowadays, we are facing the
  shortage of land. To solve this problem, we need
  to cut the trees to get more lands. This is the
  main cause of deforestation in Hong Kong. Another
  reason of deforestation is hill-fire in Ching
  Ming Festival, many trees are destroyed by the
  fire. Those problems are serious nowadays.

• How do these problems affect our lives?
• Hong Kong has not much woodland. So we should
  protect them. It is because if Hong Kong hasnt
  trees, Hong Kong will have the heavy air
  pollution. Hong Kong has many factories, always
  giving out carbon dioxide. During photosynthesis,
  the trees absorb carbon dioxide and breathe in
  oxygen. Also will have soil erosion, flooding,
  local droughts, and greenhouse effect which in
  turn causes global warming. Thus, we should save
  our woodland to protect our lives from greenhouse
  effect.

• Are we able to solve the problems?
• Deforestation is a problem but in Hong Kong, it
  is difficult to solve. It is because Hong Kong's
  population growth is increasing every year. If we
  do not solve this problems first, we cannot solve
  other problems.

• What is the best use of our woodland???
• The best use of the woodland in Hong Kong, I
  think , is the setting up of country parks. It is
  because Hong Kong does not have too many forests
  ,so we shall protect the forests .WE also can use
  country parks to earn money.

THE BASIC QUESTION (8)

• How can we help to protect our woodland and
  tropical rainforest?
• Many and many woodlands and tropical rainforests
  have been destroyed in latest years. So we must
  help to protect them. Otherwise, they will be
  cleared within forty years. There are many
  methods for us to protect the woodlands and
  rainforests. The easiest way are knowing more
  about the forests use more recycled paper and
  non-wood furniture. For action, we can join the
  tree-planting schemes or support environmental
  organizations to save the rainforest.

3D Tse Tsz Ho
I think that it was a substantial trip for me. In
fact, it was not just improving the relationships
between my classmates, but also taught me a
lesson about the woodlands. And I still
remembered that I had taken lots of photos and
videos by the time I went up the peak. They are
all valuable and attractive. Although the tickets
for the peak tram were extremely expensive, it
was still worthwhile.

3D ???

• After doing this project, I learnt more about our
  forests. In Hong Kong, there are many buildings
  but the forests are too little so we should
  protect the forests.

3D Sum Chun Kit

• I know the forest is very important to our city
  because they can have respiration to produce
  Oxygen. I see many people in Hong Kong but there
  are less forests, so we should protect and save
  them quickly!!!I feel the project is very good
  ,it can help me to make my friends with my class.

• I think this trip can improve my geography
  skills, because this project is about TRF. I took
  some photos about TRF and you can click the photo
  album to see them.

3D Tsang Pak Ho

• Last Easter our geography team went to the Hong
  Kong Peak. We walked around Sun Kong Road to look
  around to see the trees. After this trip, we
  learnt a lot about the TRF learnt that many
  trees were going to extinct, so we should protect
  these trees.

3D Lo Kit Wai

• I did the project happily because we had a lot of
  fun in this project. The project was very
  difficult at first because I didnt know how to
  do it !!! I hope our friend could do this next
  year!!!
