National Womens Lobby to capture the strength of

- Membership in the National Womens Lobby -- a
division of the USWCC -- include womens
organizations, the womens sections of mixed
organizations, individual supporting members, and
foundations and businesses that support building
womens influence in political affairs and public
policy.

- Through a new and value added USWCC Association
Membership, the National Womens Lobby enables
the USWCC to form partnerships with established
organizations and build the scale required to
raise the influence of women in the marketplace.

with a revolutionary system of Internet-based
conferencing, online polling and interaction, the
USWCC brings the women leaders of America
together in a process of education, issue
selection and position advancement.

- The National Womens Lobby will use the
revolutionary Virtual Town Hall system to advance
only the broadest issues. - Only broad issues earning a two-thirds majority
vote of the members of the NWL will be advanced.

- And, member organizations of the lobby may choose
to opt in or out of support for certain issues
and campaigns without jeopardizing their
membership in the NWL. - This minimalist platform makes it possible for a
large number of very different organizations to
participate.

20Proposal Process
- Proposals begin at committee level
- If 51 consensus is reached, the resolution moves
forward to the High Council of Leaders (leaders
of national womens groups) - If 51 consensus is reached, the resolution moves
to the full General Assembly - If two-thirds consensus is reached by the General
Assembly to establish adoption by the NWL
21Proposal Process
- Process is virtual, but voice/web conferencing
and online methods are used to educate, discuss
and refine viewpoint. - Leaders in the process have complete access to
the members of the assembly and may schedule
conferences at anytime in the process.
22Advocacy of Positions
- Once a position or campaign has been affirmed,
the NWL utilizes a number of different methods to
aggressively communicate and advocate on behalf
of the position and our members

- The National Women's Lobby Bulletin - publishes
the resolutions and campaigns of the NWL monthly.
The NWL Bulletin is distributed to elected
officials, key influencers, national and local
media and NWL members. - The National Women's Lobby Agenda - the annual
statement of the viewpoints, proposals and
recommendations of the NWL. The NWL Agenda is
distributed to elected officials, key
influencers, national and local media and NWL
members.
24Advocacy of Positions
- The National Women's Lobby Special Reports -
committees of the NWL may issue special reports
to support the positions of the committee and to
educate key influencers and elected officials of
the needs of women. - The National Women's Lobby Town Hall Center Web
Pages - the Secretariat will maintain copies of
all publications and news of the NWL at the NWL
we pages of the USWCC Web Portal.
25Advocacy of Positions
- Advocacy - the Secretariat and members of the
High Council of Leaders will advocate on behalf
of the NWL through letters, testimony, opinion
editorials, and personal meetings with key
influencers and elected officials and will report
on their responses.
