• Joyces Waking Women A Feminist Introduction to

• He admired Ibsen as a feminist
• The purpose of a Dolls house was the
  emancipation of women which has caused the
  greatest revolution in our time in the most
  important relationship there is that between men
  and women, the revolt of women against the idea
  that they are the mere instruments of men.

  and I think it was a way to get the audience to
  be sympathetic towards women and to get people to
  feel the same way about women as he did.

  least independent to prove that they could be
  these two things.

  with women.

• The female narrative is usually submerged, but
  always present in the gaps of male dialogue. The
  female narrative emerges forcefully at a number
  of climatic points including the end.

• At the end we see her differently because of the
  monologue Joyce uses
