Eye Wash Station
  • Located on the back wall of the lab under the
    shower
  • Chemicals in eye should be flushed with running
water from the eye wash for 15-20 minutes
  • Help the injured person by holding their eyelids
    open while rinsing
  • Push paddle to start and hold face over the sink

  • Carries away vapors from reagents or reactions
    you may be working with
  • Fume hood must be activated as necessary. The
on switch is located on front side of hood
  • Place equipment or reactions as far back in the
    hood as possible

  • Pull to alert school and fire department in the
    event of a fire

13
Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • MSDS contain information about materials used in
    the lab
  • These provide extensive safety information about
    chemicals located in the lab
  • MSDS can be accessed online at http//hazard.com/m
    sds
  • MSDS are also located on the bookshelf
