What is Big Brother Phone Triangulation

• A simple application that shows a user their
  approximate location in a building via their
  android phone.
• Will also show other phones in the building that
  are running the application.
• This information will also be available on a
  webpage accessible through a web server.

Why is it interesting?

• We are using Wi-Fi transmitters in a way not
  originally intended.
• Application has the potential to be expanded for
  wide scale use.
• We are locating phones without the use of GPS.
• Allows us the opportunity to develop a complex
  system under the supervision of a lecturer

How will we build it?

• Four main areas
• Communication between the android phones
• Putting phones into Ad-Hoc mode
• Utilising signal strengths to measure locations
• Mapping phones to the schematic of a building
