Isaiah 626
  • O Jerusalem, I have posted watchmen on your
walls they will pray to the Lord day and night
for the fulfillment of his promises. Take no
rest, all you who pray. Give the Lord no rest
until he makes Jerusalem the object of praise

Christmas Letter From Honolulu City Councilman
Gary Okino
  • Aloha, Brothers and Sisters in Christ In all,
Ive been with City government for more than 40
years . . . In all those years, I have been
frustrated by the lack of effectiveness of
government in dealing with the moral and ethical
problems of our community, especially two
seemingly impossible problems drug abuse and
    homelessness. . . .

  • Then on November 30, I received a call from a
person that I have known through my secular City
functions. . . . She told me about the United in
Prayer program and asked if I would help bring
the churches in Aiea together to pray for Aiea
High School through an event called the Canopy
    of Prayer.

  • The prayer event at the high school went very
well with one ominous incident that reminded us
that we cannot assume the results. . . But what
was wondrous was seeing so many Aiea churches
working together. . .The message is clear the
Good Lord wants us to look beyond our own
    churches.

  • He is also telling us that we cannot continue to
depend solely on our pastors. Business people,
educators and even politicians everyone must
get involved. All churches in Honolulu must come
together as the Body of Christ to transform the
spiritual climate of our City. And now I know
that this transformation will happen through
    prayer evangelism.

Christmas Letter From Honolulu City Councilman

  • This is how we are going to solve the seemingly
impossible problems of drug abuse and
homelessness as well as all of the other problems
that are now suffocating the heart and soul of
    our community and our City.

13
Christmas Letter From Honolulu City Councilman
Gary Okino
  • Ed Silvoso of Harvest Evangelism says that there
will be four detonator cities in the United
States. These cities will trigger a major
transformation of the spiritual climate of our
nation. This transformation is already occurring
in Elk River, Minnesota its an incredible
    story.

14
Christmas Letter From Honolulu City Councilman
Gary Okino
  • Pastor Ron Yoshida told us at our last meeting
that someone had a vision that Honolulu will soon
emerge as one of those four catalyst cities. . .
. I can feel it. I believe it. The vision for
    Honolulu will become reality.

15
Christmas Letter From Honolulu City Councilman
Gary Okino
  • Please join us. . . With everyones
participation, Honolulu will be transformed and
we will become that detonator city envisioned by
    Ed Silvoso.
  • Aloha Ke Akua,
  • Gary Okino
