July 19, 2001 1998 Nissan Maxima Vehicle and
technician provided by Berman's Automotive Center
in Baltimore, Md. CAPA-certified fenders were
manufactured by TKY. The headlamp was
manufactured by TYC. The grille manufacturer was
unknown. Note The two CAPA parts that
performed poorly at the recent CIC test were
certified in 1996. Late last year, both of the
parts were re-evaluated as part of CAPAs effort
to re-test all parts using its more stringent
test requirements. CAPAs test fit engineers
noted problems similar to those observed by CIC
attendees during the latest test fit, and
corrective actions by the manufacturer are
underway. Pending those actions, and in response
to the CIC test results,these parts have been
decertified by CAPA.
