  • Five Sub-Categories

1. Productivity and Technical Competency
  • One example of word-processed document that
    includes graphics
  • One example of either a concept map or writing
    plan that utilizes a graphic organizer
    (Inspiration, Word, etc)
  • One example of a spreadsheet that includes a
    graph and an interpretation of the data.

  • You must submit at least one example in each
    folder

2. Information LiteracyInformation Acquisition,
Source Verification and Evaluation Artifact
  • At least one example of a completed research
    paper or project related to a core academic or
    applied vocational course
  • Electronic sources must be referenced in the
    bibliography
  • Evidence that information was gathered from
    scholarly and/or peer-reviewed databases
  • Validity of other electronic resources must be
    evaluated by the student. This can be
    accomplished through written descriptions an/or
    annotations.

Information Acquisition, Source Verification and
Evaluation Artifact
  • The Junior Research Paper will meet this
    requirement and can be documented in both the
    Research Paper and this Tech competency folder.

3. Multimedia Artifact
  • At least one multimedia project that includes
    features such as animation, sound, video, text
    and/or graphics. Projects can be created using
    PowerPoint, Front Page, digital video, etc.

Multimedia Artifact
  • The multimedia project can be a required class
    project (Graphic Arts, Journalism, Web Design,
    Yearbook, etc.)
  • or as a tech visual aid to a project (i.e. a
    PowerPoint with animation as part of a
    presentation in any other class.)

4. Communication Artifact
  • Present and/or Publish at least one project to
    audiences outside the classroom. Examples might
    include a published web site, a PowerPoint
    presentation to a panel of experts, submitting a
    digital video to a contest. The artifact must
    provide proof that the work was published (i.e. a
    link to a website) or that the presentation
    occurred (a picture of the presentation).

Communication Artifact
  • The Senior Oral Presentation will meet this
    requirement, if it includes a PowerPoint or some
    other form of technology.

  • Use technology to create products that
    demonstrate one or more of the following
  • Self-Direction
  • Creativity
  • Higher Level Thinking
  • Sound Reasoning
