• Where would you go to see what is on TV tonight?
• Where would you go to see what movies are playing
  in Jonesboro?
• What do you think the URL of Hastings' (the book
  store) website is? Try it.
• Go to www.google.com
• Type Hastings in the search box to find the
  actual Hastings site.

• Return to Google's home page.
• Click File, New, Window to open another IE
  window.
• Go to www.yahoo.com.
• Type james bond in the search boxes of both sites
  and perform the searches.
• Note the number of results returned from each
  engine.

• Switch to the Google site and click Advanced
  Search (located beside the search box).
• Notice the option to choose a language. Select
  English and perform the search.
• Notice the reduced number of results.

• Change the search from james bond to "james bond"
  at both sites and perform the searches again.
• Note the reduction in results.
• Remove results that deal with games by adding a
  space followed by game to both search topics and
  perform the new searches.
• Ensure that the results deal with movies by
  adding movie to the search box and repeating the
  search.

• On the Google site, click Advanced Search.
• Under the Date category, select past 3 months and
  perform the search and note the number of
  results.
• On the Yahoo site, click Advanced Search.
• Type james bond in the exact phrase box, game in
  the none of these words box, and set the Updated
  time frame to past 3 months. Perform the search
  and note the number of results.

• Return to the Yahoo! home page.
• What would you type in the search box to obtain
  photos of Earth from space? Perform the search
  and locate an image.
• Return to the Google home page.
• Click on the Images link located above the search
  box.
• Type in earth and perform the search.
• Click on the Web link and try the same search.

Phone Numbers

• Go to people.yahoo.com.
• Fill in your information and see if there is a
  listing for you. If there are no results, be
  sure to use the back button to return to this
  page to try again. If there are no results for
  you, try for parents or friends.
• Once you have a result, click on it to load the
  page.
