EXISTING MODEL

• 2 Stroke Engine ( LML NV) 150cc
• Single direction Gear Box
• Quickly heated less efficient engine
• Low ground clearance
• Hand Lever for starting

Modifications

• Provide an EGR system
• Provide a reverse gear
• Provide a self ignition system
• To increase the ground clearance

Exhaust Gas Recirculation

• EGR is a process of recirculation of engine
  exhaust into the cylinder at appropriate time in
  right quantity. It aims at reducing specific fuel
  consumption and lowers UBHC emissions in two
  stroke SI engine.

• There are two purposes of employing EGR -
• It reduces the amount of UBHC and CO in the
  exhaust by allowing them a sufficient time to
  undergo complete combustion.
• The short-circuited fresh charge and unburned HC
  is made to burn in cylinder through the process
  of re-circulation, there by improving SFC

GEAR SYSTEM

• EXISTING GEAR SYSTEM
• Existing gear box is inbuilt in the engine so
  there is no space for mounting an extra idler
  gear in the engine to provide reverse movement of
  the wheels.

• MODIFICATION
• To provide reverse movement to the wheels we
  have proposed a new design. For this the system
  should be incorporated in parallel to the
  existing gear box that would satisfy our need.
  The box would provide increased rpm and also
  provide the reverse motion.This will also not
  take much space.

Self Ignition

• To accommodate a battery ignition system we would
  need-
• Battery
• Ignition Coil
• Contact Breaker
• Ignition Switch
• Ignition Capacitor

GROUND CLEARANCE

• The existing chassis is too low because of the
  wheels used( auto rickshaw ). For increasing the
  ground clearance we will incorporate Bajaj Chetak
  wheels that are light and bigger in size. This
  will lift the car and also make the vehicle light.

CONCLUSION

• After the modifications we will get a compact
  two stroke mini car which will be more efficient
  than the previous car. The maximum speed of this
  car will be increased from 30 Kph to 50-55 Kph.
  The average of this car will also be increased
  from 12 to 20 Km/lt. The car will have a self
  starting facility incorporated with a reverse
  gearing facility.
