Objectives
  • Welcome to the Cayuse424 Submit Training Module.
  • In this module you will learn how to use
    Cayuse424 to
  • Discern the status of a proposal once it has been
    submitted to Grants.gov.
  • Submit proposals to Grants.gov.

Assessing Readiness to Submit
  • Your proposal is ready to be submitted when
  • All required SFS424 forms have been completed.
  • The Research Plan has been attached.
  • All other documents (e.g., budget justification,
    Biosketches, etc.) have been attached.
  • All review authorities (including the AOR) have
    approved the proposal.

Determining Who Can Submit
  • Some organizations centrally control who can
    submit. If this is the case, you will not be
    able to perform the submit yourself. You must
    contact the appropriate authority and request
    that they submit the proposal for you.
  • Once the proposal has been submitted you can
    track its progress using the Cayuse424 Tracking
    Information.

Locating the Proposal
  • To access the Cayuse424 Tracking Information,
    open the submitted proposal.
  • Click Proposals.
  • Locate the proposal on your list.
  • Click the proposal name.

Submitting Your Proposal
  • If your organization allows users to perform the
    submit, it will configure Cayuse424 so that the
    system will allow you to do so.
  • To submit your proposal, open it.
  • Click the icon.

  • To perform an Electronic Submission
  • Click Validate Proposal Cayuse424 will perform
    a final error check. If errors are found, you
    must correct them before submitting, otherwise
    your proposal will be rejected once it is
    received by Grants.gov.

  • The submission status will be displayed.

  • Once the submission is complete a Grants.gov
    tracking number is displayed along with date,
    time and submitter.
  • Your institution will receive a series of emails
    from Grants.gov and the federal contracting
    agency indicating status.
  • Receipt does not mean acceptance. Be vigilant
    about reviewing status until you are sure it has
    been accepted by the agency.

  • Once the proposal is open click the icon.

  • The Electronic Submission page contains
  • Proposal Details..
  • Proposal Submission History.
  • Electronic Submission buttons.
  • Click the icon for details.

  • View/Confirm Proposal Details
  • Link to Instructions from Grants.gov.
  • Download PDF, if desired.

  • View Proposal Submission History
  • A Grants.gov Tracking Number is displayed once
    Grants.gov acknowledges receipt. If you click on
    this link current status will be displayed.
  • Once received, Grants.gov will send a series of
    email indicating status.
