Title: Site Builder

1
Site Builder
  • Basic User Guide

2
Site Builder Login Screen
Enter your username/password and start building
your site. You will also come here any time you
want to edit or change your current site or
change your current password.
3
Forgotten Passwords
Trouble logging in?
If you forget your password, click Trouble
logging in? on the login screen and be taken
here. Enter the email address you used while
ordering your site and your username/password
will be emailed to you. If you are still having
problems logging in or retrieving your forgotten
password, contact the site builder support.
4
Change Password
Change password
If you want to change your current password,
click on the Change password link on the login
page. Enter your username, current password,
desired password, confirm your desired password
and hit submit.
5
Site Builder
This is the first screen you will see when
entering the site builder for the first time.
Here you will choose to start with a template or
with an Express site. The multi-page template
option offers more flexibility from the start.
The Express site option will give less options to
begin with, but will get a site up more quickly.
With either option, you can change and edit your
site at any time in the future.
6
Multi-page Template
Select a template from any one of the categories
and sub-categories listed on this page and the
pages that follow. The main categories are shown
on the tabs and the sub-categories will be in the
main section. For less editing later, try to
select one that best matches your business or
organization.
7
Enter Site Name Select Pages
On this page you can enter a name for your site,
enter a footer (will appear at the bottom of
every page of your site) and select pages. The
pages shown are just suggestions. If you would
like a page that is not listed here, select
blank page or simply rename any of these pages
once in the site editor. You are never stuck
with any of these selections. Any of this can be
changed at any time.
8
Pick a Design
Each template has a default design assigned to
it. You dont have to use it. On this screen
you can Use the suggested design or Choose
from all designs.
9
Choose From All Designs
When choosing from all designs, select a category
from the left and the designs will be displayed
on the right. Simply click on the design you
would like to use. Note that some designs have a
yellow corner with a paint can. These designs
can be further customized (page colors and design
images can be changed).
10
Site Editor
After selecting a design you will be taken into
the site editor. This is where you can make
changes to your site. Click on any of the yellow
edit buttons to change that element on the
page. You will also notice that the pages you
selected previously are all listed on the
navigation bar. To make changes to any of these
pages, simply click the desired page on the
navigation bar and you will be able to edit that
page.
11
Text Editing
After hitting Edit text next to the text you
want to change, you will be taken to this screen.
This works like any other word processing
software you have used before. You can bold,
underline, color, select font and size, bullet,
indent, align, cut, copy, paste and/or make text
a link. You can even edit the html coding if
desired. When you have made your changes, click
Done and the changes will be reflected on your
page.
12
Photo Editing
After hitting Edit picture next to a photo you
will be taken to this screen. Here you can
change the attributes of the current image (you
will see all the options by scrolling down the
page). Or you can choose a different picture.
13
Photo Galleries
If you select Choose a different picture you
will be taken into the photo galleries. There
are two galleries, My Pictures and Clipart
Photos. My Pictures are any images that are
uploaded by you. These images will only be
available to you. No one else will have access
to these. The Clipart Photos is a shared
gallery of standard/stock photos and images.
They are categorized and available to all site
builder users.
14
Publishing Your Site
Once you have completed all your changes, hit the
Publish to web icon on the bottom tool bar and
your site will be made live online. All changes
to your site are automatically saved within the
site builder as you make them, but no changes are
live online until you hit the Publish to web
icon.
15
Menu Bar
Click one of these to add elements to any page in
your site.
Move, copy/paste or delete any element within a
page (similar to copy/paste in word processing).
Instructions on how to submit your site to a few
search engines. Also lets you announce your site
to anyone you think would be interested.
Make your site live on the web. No changes will
be reflected live online until you have hit the
publish button.
Add a page to your site.
Online help.
See what your site will look like live.
Change the layout of your site (1 column to 2
column, etc.). Or if you chose a customizable
design, you can change the look of your design.
Or you can choose a whole new design.
Gives you a quick look at all the pages within
your site. Also allows you to change any page
properties or change the order of your pages.
16
All My Sites
This is the control panel for your site(s). Once
you have built a site, left the builder and log
on again, this will be the first page you see.
On the left, starting at the top you will see a
list of all the sites you have created. You have
the option of creating a new site. You can view
your site statistics. Helps and tips should be
able to answer any site building questions that
you have. On the right you will find the same
promotion options mentioned on the previous page.
