Introduction
Bob
  • Welcome to the great exhibition, may I have your
    tickets please? Here we are in Hyde park, Did you
    know that Prince Albert organized this
    Exhibition? He decided that it would be a good
    way of uniting the countries empire. This is
    your guide, Bob. He will show you around the
    great exhibition and teach you about all of the
    fascinating objects here. Have fun!

The telephone
The first telephone was invented by a man called
Alexander graham Belle. the first telephone call
was made on march the 10 in 1876. picking up the
phone in New York, Mr belle said Mr. Watson,
come here, I want you. Mr Watson replied, saying
it would take him a week he was on the other end
of the line in San Francisco.

The flushing toilet
The flushing toilet was invented by a man called
Thomas crapper. He was born on the 28 September
1836 and died on the 27 January 1910. He was a
plumber who founded Thomas crapper co Ltd. in
London. Thomas crapper was married to a woman
called Maria Green. Just pull the flush and its
gone!

The Light bulb
In 1875, Thomas Edison invented the light bulb.
His researcher was called James Woodward. At
first most people ridiculed them, but, Woodward
obtained a U.S. patent on his electric lamp and
,in 1879, Edison considered it sufficiently
important to buy out the patent from Woodward.
Woodward sold a share of his Canadian patent to
Thomas Edison in 1885. So the electric light bulb
became American.

The Indian room
The Indians Brought the amazing Howdah. A
Stunning cover for the Huge model Elephant . The
Elephant and his cover were given to the queen as
a present. They also brought lots of spicy foods
and a fearsome tiger, so watch your fingers!

The African Room
  • The Africans Brought animals such as African
    elephants, which are different to Indian
    Elephants, monkeys and lions. They also made some
    delicate wooden statues hand painted with African
    paint from the jungle.

The Dinosaurs
  • Among the attractions is the first ever
    dinosaur exhibition. Life size models made and
    designed by a man named Benjamin waterhouse
    Hawkins. Hawkins held a dinner party for 22
    people inside the hollow body of the iguanodon.
