Goal
  • To provide state-of-the-art collaboration
    technologies and services that allow our
    customers to meet with geographically dispersed
    colleagues as if they were all in the same room.

Overview of Current Services
  • Web-Based Registration
  • Scheduled Audio and Data Conferencing
  • 144 ports audio, unlimited data
  • Ad-Hoc Video (H.323/H.320) Conferencing
  • 180 ports H.323
  • Gateway for voice ISDN video
  • Streaming (Quicktime and REAL).
  • Ad-Hoc meeting email scheduler

Drudge Work
  • All video infrastructure is working at the latest
    code available
  • MeetingPlace will be upgraded to latest code
    soon.
  • ESnet home-grown registration pages will be
    modified for MeetingPlace

  • Streaming of Video Meetings

  • Increased audio conf size and started overbooking
    to stop scheduling errors

  • Increased services bandwidth per endpoint to 4
    Mbps on Codian (001134988X) and 784 kbps on
    Radvison (84X).
  • Allowed full access for Gnomemeeting and OhPhone
    X clients

  • Developed code to track equipment registrations
  • Developed an Ad-Hoc Scheduler
  • Simply an email that gives all the directions how
    to connect to a meeting. Used for the Workshop.
  • Improved statistics gathering code

  • Testing VoIP using MeetingPlace and Call Manager
    from Cisco
  • Interoperability of Call Manager and Rad ECS-500
    gatekeeper.
  • Testing integrated voice, video, and data
    collaboration with MeetingPlace and Radvision

  • Progress is being made
  • Audio bridge usage is increasing slowly
  • Data usage is all over the map

    VRVS is growing and other organizations are
    putting in infrastructure
