Title: The Guided Tour A Journey of Exploration
1The Guided TourA Journey of Exploration
Discovery

2Overview
The Guided Tour is the first of six instructional
activities that use the Web Based Learning Model
as a conceptual framework. In a Guided Tour,
the teacher makes use of internet resources to
design activities that allow students to explore
concepts or themes related to their course of
study.
3 This is done through carefully guided steps that
direct students to the sources of information,
while maintaining a level of autonomy that allows
students to engage in exploration and discovery.
During this tour, students collect the
information needed to complete their tasks.
4 Integrating technology into the classroom
requires change. Teachers seem to lack an
integration model that guides them through the
change process.
