Goals for the TSLE workgroup
  • Build on the work from the mission progress

  • Explore whether the ideas for student experiences
    match the criteria to become a pillar of
    distinction and,
  • Prepare a summary report to submit the ideas for
    further refinement by the Georgia College
    community.

Stakeholders Ten, 1-5
  • Civic/Community Engagement participate in the
    community and public life outreach to impact the
    local, regional, national, or global community
    with service learning, projects, field
    experiences, etc. learn to impact the
    development, health, or well being of others.
  • Field Experiences, Internships, Coaching,
    Mentoring experience applied learning, hands-on
    applications, internships, and/or involvement
    with a profession engage in research projects,
    clinical instruction, and/or become active with
    student peer mentors.
  • Historical Legacies understand the role of
    history in human development and its relevance to
    contemporary issues focus on our living history
    research the history of academic disciplines, our
    community, the role of women in GCSU, and other
    issues visit historic sites
  • Integrative Learning Opportunities learn through
    capstone experiences, intensives, workshops,
    retreats, or circles discussions present ideas,
    express yourself artistically, or participate in
    deliberative dialogues define a learning
    journey, or an array of connected events around a
    theme (i.e., run a marathon, take a nutrition
    course, and attend a chefs seminar).
  • Multiculturalism/International Exposures
    appreciate diverse peoples and attain a global
    awareness emphasize study abroad while also
    developing a focus on events that test comfort
    zones, expand ideas of diverse peoples, and
    examine traditions, norms, and structures.
