Objectives
Data Acquisition Unit


A Real-time groundwater-level monitoring
network. Covering over 50 sites around Nebraska.
Provide fast and reliable data. Help
groundwater users to better plan for, recognize,
deal with, and document multiple-year
droughts. The network can be easily adapted to
other fields of environmental monitoring.
Water Monitoring Transducer Embedded System
The embedded system does preliminary signal
processing and packs the hydrologic data
collected by the transducer into a proper and
secure format ready for remote transmission.
Data Transfer Unit

Satellite Modem a Satellite Transceiver or
Integrated Cellular Communication Module
Both of these two communication methods
guarantee the reliable telecommunication with
minimum expense. The data acquisition unit
and the data transfer unit will be powered by a
solar panel and battery.

Graphical interface, will be developed to run on
the base station to display and archive the
real-time data.
