- The GKAP-R is used as one source of information
to determine readiness for first grade. - GKAP-R is still required by law.
- The test must be administered by a certified
teacher. - All examiners must be trained to administer the
test. - Systems continue to administer during three state
testing windows. - Progress Profiles must be placed in the students
permanent record at the end of the school year.

7End-of-Course-Tests
- The purpose of the EOCT is to assess student
achievement of the Quality Core Curriculum (QCC)
objectives in core courses and to provide
diagnostic data in support of improved student
achievement.
8EOCT Courses to be Tested
- American Literature and Composition
- Ninth Grade Literature and Composition
- Algebra I
- Geometry
- Biology
- Physical Science
- U S History
- Economics/Business/Free Enterprise
9EOCT Courses to be Tested
- If a student is earning graduation credit for one
of the EOCT courses, he/she must take the EOCT. - Example The student is taking Applied Biology
and will receive Biology credit for graduation.
The student must participate in the Biology EOCT.
10EOCT Courses to be Tested
- Example The student takes Biology in 9th grade
and takes the EOCT. Then, the student takes AP
Biology in 11th grade. He/she does NOT have to
repeat the EOCT. - However
- The student takes AP Biology in 10th grade and is
awarded credit for the Biology graduation
requirement this student must take the Biology
EOCT.
11Students to be Tested
- Any student, regardless of grade level, enrolled
in an EOCT course - Students taking a college course, an online
course, or a correspondence class who are
receiving credit towards graduation for an EOCT
course - Systems/schools are responsible for approving
courses that meet the QCC objectives for the
course in which the student is earning credit - Middle School students enrolled in an EOCT
course, whether or not they receive HS credit for
the class
12Test Administration
- The EOCT is the final exam for the course
- The EOCT will count as 15 of the students final
course grade (15 EOCT score/85 course grade
final course grade) - Winter 2004 December 1 December 21
- Spring 2005 April 18 May 13
- Summer 2005 June 27 July 27
- One- or two-day administrations allow scheduling
flexibility - Make-ups may be given at any time during the
state testing window

14Waiver for Geometry
- Geometry will not be counted as part of students
