Title: Geospatial Technology

1
Geospatial Technology
  • Certificate of Completion Program

2
Become a GIS Professional
  • The Geospatial Technology for Environmental
Sciences Certificate of Completion Program trains
    entry-level geospatial technicians.

3
Become a GIS Professional
  • Geospatial technicians collect, create, query,
    analyze, and present geographically-referenced
    data.
  • They work with both line and photographic
    representations.

4
Become a GIS Professional
  • These data include characteristics of natural or
constructed features and boundaries on, above, or
    below the earths surface.

5
Become a GIS Professional
  • Join a multibillion-dollar industry employing
hundreds of thousands of people worldwide!
  • You can, if you learn to use the tools
    professionals use.

6
Become a GIS Professional
  • With these tools you will be able to extract the
patterns and trends inherent in location-based
    information.

7
Career Opportunities
  • Career opportunities include, but are not limited
    to
  • environmental, agricultural, and forestry
    hospital, biomedical, and pharmaceutical
  • utility, industrial, and engineering
  • and local, state, and federal government
  • offices and laboratories.

8
Get Certified
  • The Geospatial Technology Program prepares
students for the STARS (Spatial Technology and
    Remote Sensing) Certification.

9
Get Certified
  • The Geospatial Technology Program prepares
students for the STARS (Spatial Technology and
    Remote Sensing) Certification.

10
Get Certified
  • The Phoenix College Biology Department is a
Geospatial Hub Site offering the nationally
recognized STARS curriculum and STARS exam.

11
Get Certified
  • Upon successful completion of both, students will
be awarded the STARS Certification which
demonstrates the necessary level of knowledge
needed to be employed in the geospatial
    workforce.

12
Get Certified
  • The Geospatial Technology Certificate of
Completion Program could be just for you, whether
    you are
  • looking to improve your skills as a current
    professional
  • or a high school graduate looking to get into an
    exciting high tech career.

13
Get Certified
  • All courses are taught by professionals in the
field and administered through the Phoenix
    College Biology Department, which upholds
    stringent academic standards.
