What is a Pinhole Camera?

• Pinhole cameras are very simple cameras.
• To make one you only need a light proof box,
  film, and a pinhole.
• On one side of the box
• a hole is made in
• aluminum foil.
• On the opposite side
• of the pinhole you place
• the film.

How does a Pinhole Camera work?

• The pinhole in the camera acts as the lens.
• The light enters the box through the very small
  pinhole which focuses the light onto the film.
• Imagine you are in a dark room with only a small
  hole in the door. If your friend is shining a
  flashlight through the hole a small dot of light
  would show up. This is what happens with the
  image.
• Each point of light that comes in the hole
  shines, only instead of one point it creates a
  whole image of points.
• Like with lens the image inside is upside down or
  inverted.

Pinhole Photography

• Ive always been interested in photography and I
  was surprised to learn that pinhole photography
  is a very popular pastime.
• I made a pinhole camera in high school and have
  always wanted to try to take pictures with it.
• Here are some examples of pinhole photography I
  found interesting.
