• The West Hempstead Union Free School District

CSE vs. CPSE

• A Committee on Special Education (CSE) is formed
  to determine eligibility of a school age student
  (ages 5-21)
• A Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE)
  is formed to determine eligibility of a student
  3-5 years of age.

Preschool Programs

• Programs are funded by the county and federal
  government. District acts as a conduit for
  delivering the programs and services. Programs
  range from relatively mild interventions to
  intense programs depending on the students
  needs.
