2008 Career Development Refocus

• Career development has always been part of the
  Exempt performance process
• For 2008 the ALT has directed that all managers
  of Exempt employees should offer to have a career
  dialogue as part of the performance objective
  setting process
• Exempt employees are encouraged to have career
  dialogues regardless of their career stage (i.e.
  new hire, medium or advanced)

• In order to support the renewed focus on Career
  Development the following tools have been
  updated

  and Form

• In addition to the Exempt specific tools, there
  is also a more general Learning and Career
  Development Guide for all City employees
• To help Managers in assisting their staff, there
  has been a Learning and Career Development Module
  introduced under the LFME program
