10 Years Experience in Online Media

• Online Classified Ads
• Deeply involved in strategy, research and
  business analysis of how newspapers should
  compete in the Web Classifieds space for 10
  years.
• In 1995, ideated and implemented the webs first
  local classifieds application with a shopping
  cart. (Called Planet Jobs. Then launched the
  other newspaper classifieds on the platform.)
• Local Sites, Stores Merchandise
• Set up web sites for several Philadelphia area
  businesses and organizations including
• Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce
• Genuardis Family Markets
• Search space
• Developed, evaluated and implemented several
  types of Search engines for various products and
  services.
• In 1997, led development of the first integrated
  local sites directory and local area sites search
  engine product (PhillyFinder).

• As Vice President, Technology / Engineering at

  contractors on a year-long successful project
  with 20 million budget and over 100 staff
  involved.
• Directed migration of 31 Knight Ridder web sites
  to a single hosting provider.

  31 Knight Ridder Newspapers.

• Each year, about fifteen KR Excellence Award
  winners are chosen from among about twenty
  thousand employees. The final judges are a group
  of about twelve outside experts from the
  industry.
• I received the Technology award twice in my
  career. Only a handful of employees over the
  years have received two KR excellence awards.
• Excellence Award for Technology Innovation,
  Knight Ridder, 1999.
• The judges said, "His work is phenomenal. He's
  done more in four years than some do in a
  lifetime."
• Bill Gates of Microsoft personally demonstrated
  our teams products as a reference to innovative

• In NEXPO 2002 and 2003, spoke about technology

• In 2004 2002, was invited by the Medill School
  of Journalism and the Computer Science
  Department, Northwestern University.
• Taught classes on new media and technology.
• Participated in a panel of five online media
  experts speaking to a larger audience from both
  schools on journalism and technology.
