3A Provider Filling First Responder Needs
- MIPT feels a special obligation to aid first
responders - police officers, firefighters,
emergency medical technicians, and all of the
others who are first on the scene in the
aftermath of terrorist activity. - MIPT sponsors research to discover equipment,
training, and procedures that might assist them
in preventing terrorism or mitigating its results.

appropriations. - Currently, MIPT operates through a cooperative
agreement with the National Institute of Justice,
the research arm of the Department of Justice.
