NORDISK GRUPPE

Hvor vanlig er ADHD i Europa?
Prevalensen ligger mellom 1.8 16.6
Prevalence rates range between 1.8 16.6
(EINAQ 2003)
3
Hyppighet i verden
Prevalens mellom 4 12
(NAAAC 2002)
4
Beregnet prevalens for Norge 18 år (N 3 442
579)
5
Hva sier forskningen om voksne med ADHD?
  • Ingen diagnosekriterier for voksne
  • Data fra diverse oppfølgingsstudier kan vanskelig
    sammenlignes, fordi diagnosekriteriene har blitt
forandret underveis og gruppene ofte har vært
    selekterte
  • MTA studiens resultater kan ikke uten videre
    overføres til en voksenpopulasjon

The Global Network exists to improve the quality
of life of those who may be affected by ADHD
  • Supporting the leadership of ADHD advocacy
    groups, by
  • Establishing an electronic communication forum
  • Hosting global ADHD leadership meetings
  • Fra Denver

31
  • Assuring ADHD is a recognized and treated
    condition, globally, by
  • Promoting evidence-based practices in medicine,
    education, nursing, social work
  • Empowering advocacy and professional groups
within the Global Network with appropriate,
    science-based information
  • Finalizing and adopting a Global Principles
    Statement/Declaration of Rights.

32
  • Positive information setting, get rid of the
    'Americanisation'
  • Carefully include and address the diversity and
cultural issues, not to be seen as 'middle-class,
    white' problem.
  • Stick to science and evidence
  • Importance of making information available to
    everyone
  • Empathy and understanding has to be evident to
    all classes and groups.

33
  • Spread support, act like a 'clearing house'
  • Give out verified information
  • Provision of info in more than 1 language,
although the universally used language will be
    English in any communication
  • The group also needs to be taking part in other
initiatives such as EINAQ, which is a European
    initiative developing a teaching package
guideline for adults in the whole of Europe.
Equally good initiatives are taking place
elsewhere and we need to gather that, verified,
    information.
  • Transparency is of pivotal importance, as is
    impartiality
