of recognized hazards - Establish a good abatement plan to correct known

at the earliest possible time to prevent an
injury or property damage
Encourage Oral Notification
12Unsafe/Unhealthful Report cont.
- Encourage oral notification to supervisor FIRST
- An employee desiring anonymity may file a written
report with the safety officer (NAVMC 11401) - Upon receipt of the report, the safety officer
shall notify the supervisor - The supervisor has 5 working days from the time
the report was received to notify the safety
officer of the corrective action taken
13Unsafe/Unhealthful Report cont.
- Retain copies of reports and records for 5 years
following the end of the calendar year to which
they relate
