Title: English at Alderbrook School
1English at Alderbrook School
- We aim to develop writers who can articulate
themselves - confidently and clearly, with a high level of
technical accuracy. - We encourage pupils to be creative, developing
their own - unique voice in which to express their thoughts
and ideas. - We give pupils frequent opportunities to write
for a range of audiences and purposes. - Pupils analyse a variety of media texts. As the
world around us seems to be increasingly shaped
by the media, it seems essential that we provide
our pupils with the skills they need to become
resistant readers. - Pupils have regular opportunities to participate
in whole class discussions on emotive issues and
they are also offered chances to develop their
oracy skills
