- In the Farmington/Southfield Vicariate 4 parishes
merged into one new parish. The transition team
worked with parishioners for more than a year,
and closing and opening liturgies were developed
to help the community express its grief as well
as faith and hope for the new parish.
- Similar liturgies have been used by other
parishes that have closed or
merged, celebrating their history and
lending dignity to transitioning
communities.

- Genesis Ministries, developed in the Pontiac Area
Vicariate has very active Young Adults. - North Macomb and Central Macomb, Northwest Wayne,
and Renaissance, Southwest and Trinity Vicariates
have all begun implementation of Young Adult
plans. - Lapeer and Blue Water, West Wayne, and Downriver
Vicariates hope to begin Young
Adult planning by December 2007.

- The SERF Vicariate developed a model with
objective criteria to assess and improve schools.
- Several vicariates are using this or a similar
model. - All Blue Water Vicariate parishes have agreed to
a model to financially support their schools. - Several other Vicariates are considering this
model. - The Trinity Vicariates Catholic Schools
Alliance Board supports schools with
marketing, fundraising and financial support
shared by parishes with charter schools.

- Parishes in the Blue Water, Farmington/
Southfield, Renaissance, Trinity and West Wayne
Vicariates have begun intensive evangelization
planning. - Several other vicariates will begin planning in
early 2008. - The Catholic Community Response Team (CCRT)
coordinates outreach for all parishes in the
Pontiac Area Vicariate. - The Renaissance, Trinity and Blue Water
Vicariates are mapping outreach programs
to determine gaps and overlaps in services.

- Lakes, Monroe, North Macomb, Pontiac Area
Southwest and Thumb Vicariates have begun to
integrate the Hispanic Pastoral Plan into
their vicariate plans. - Several other vicariates are beginning
integration of the HPP into their
vicariate plans. - The North Macomb Vicariate financially supports
ongoing formation of laity. - Mission Possible, to encourage support of
professional pastoral ministers, has been
presented in 8 vicariates.

- Divine Mercy is a new parish which opened in the
Lakes Vicariate, where approximately 30 of the
community . . . report that they were not
attending Church prior to associating themselves
with the new community. - Planning for a new parish in the Pontiac Area
Vicariate and a new parish building in the
North Macomb Vicariate continues.
16Annual Timeline for Implementation
- January February Tracking Committee meets
with Auxiliary Bishops, Vicars, VPC and APC
Reps., and staff resources to review TIF, TPPP,
TPPD and HPP plans. - TC members are assigned vicariates to study
intensively, and then meet for one hour with
appropriate representatives from these
vicariates. - Purpose is to provide TC members with a clear,
comprehensive and objective picture of the
vicariate, its successes and challenges,
and plans for the future.
17Annual Timeline for Implementation
- April June Tracking Committee develops,
discusses and validates Clarifying Questions and
Comments - July Tracking Committee continues to monitor
progress of the four components of the APP, and
sends Clarifying Questions and Comments to
Vicars and Vicariates. - November Vicariates respond to Clarifying
Questions and Comments, update Tracking Committee
as changes are made and goals are
accomplished.
