BACKGROUND
Troughs in the Martian NPLD.
Layering similarities observed by Kolb Tanaka
Kolb et al. have identified 3 pairs of troughs
exhibiting similar layering by observing MOC-NA
images just like the ones above.

• OFFSET TROUGHS

These are the kinds of features I will be
studing. These offset troughs are seen in various
parts on the Martian NPLD.

• To develop objective criteria in order to
  correlate layering in troughs.
• To use these criteria in order to observe
  layering correlations in offset troughs.
• Progress Made
• Observation of newer images in the Kolb et al.
  troughs.
• Development of 3D trough models
• and observations
• Observation of bifurcating troughs
• and layering in such troughs.
