Why Define Relationships?

• Requirements in any real project are
  inter-related
• These relationships can be used to understand
  dependencies between requirements and assess
  impact of change
• Analysis of dependencies helps ensure 100
  traceability
• Requirements also have relationships to other
  objects in the database for the project lifecycle
• Maintain bi-directional traceability among the
  requirements and the project plans and work
  products

• A relationship between two objects in the DOORS
  database is established using a link
• Source and Target Objects
• Source is the from object
• Target is the to object
• Links can be followed in either direction

Understanding Link Modules and Linksets

• Link Module
• A link module defines the relationship with which
  you have associated your links
• Linkset
• A linkset defines a formal module pair between
  which links of a given relationship type can
  exist
• Linksets are groupings of links within link
  modules
• Linksets correspond to individual arrows of a
  given relationship type in your schema diagram
