- The Portal has a login, and based on the persons
login, customized and interactive pages will be
presented - Creates a highly personal environment
- Provides SSO where possible
- A portal is a secure, single point of
interaction with diverse information, business
processes and people personalized to a users
need and responsibilities (IBM, 2003) - Will the portal replace the University website?
- No The University home site is its face to the
world, Portal is its face to its community - Portal is personalization, i.e. Computer Science

- Fall 2007 Assessment and planning phases
- Spring 2007/Summer 2007 (phase 1) Putting into
use the Luminis IV for selected roles which may
include selected staff, registered students,
teaching faculty, alumni and/or prospective
students. During this period, integration starts - Fall 2007 Integration of Banner channels for HR
and Finance, InfoWeb, Email and calendaring for
faculty and staff, SquirrelMail for students
