• And he said, "The kingdom of God is as if a man
  should scatter seed upon the ground, and should
  sleep and rise night and day, and the seed should
  sprout and grow, he knows not how. The earth
  produces of itself, first the blade, then the
  ear, then the full grain in the ear. But when the
  grain is ripe, at once he puts in the sickle,
  because the harvest has come." And he said, "With
  what can we compare the kingdom of God, or what
  parable shall we use for it? It is like a grain
  of mustard seed, which, when sown upon the
  ground, is the smallest of all the seeds on
  earth yet when it is sown it grows up and
  becomes the greatest of all shrubs, and puts
  forth large branches, so that the birds of the
  air can make nests in its shade."

• Et il disait "Il en est du Royaume de Dieu comme
  d'un homme qui aurait jeté du grain en terre
  qu'il dorme et qu'il se lève, nuit et jour, la
  semence germe et pousse, il ne sait comment.
  D'elle-même, la terre produit d'abord l'herbe,
  puis l'épi, puis plein de blé dans l'épi. Et
  quand le fruit s'y prête, aussitôt il y met la
  faucille, parce que la moisson est à point."Et il
  disait "Comment allons-nous comparer le Royaume
  de Dieu? Ou par quelle parabole allons-nous le
  figurer? C'est comme un grain de sénevé qui,
  lorsqu'on le sème sur la terre, est la plus
  petite de toutes les graines qui sont sur la
  terre mais une fois semé, il monte et devient la
  plus grande de toutes les plantes potagères, et
  il pousse de grandes branches, au point que les
  oiseaux du ciel peuvent s'abriter sous son ombre.
