Most of the temperate forests are in the U.S.A
and there is a temperate forest in Europe. In
Asia there is also a temperate forest.
3Temperate Forest Characteristics
Temperate forests are forests that have a lot
of trees . The forest floor is covered in leaves
and logs . The forest canopy (or top layer)
blocks light from plants that grow under the
trees. The average temperature is 75 F. There
are birds, bears, squirrels, insects, and deer
in most temperate forests. Forest plants need
humus to live. Without the humus the plants will
die. There are lots of trees like maple, oak,
hickory, and beach tree.

The largest temperate tree is 275 feet tall and
is 95 feet wide! One-third of temperate forests
cover up the world! Did you know that temperate
forests get from 30 to 60 inches per year? Some
trees grow to be 60 feet or more!

If I lived in the temperate forest, I would live
in A log cabin. I would have a stove to keep me
Warm in the winter.

Hot times If it was hot
in the temperate forest I would wear a hat, a
pair of sneakers, some shorts, and a T-shirt.
Cold Times If it was cold in the
temperate forest I would wear a jacket, some
jeans, and some boots.

If I lived in the temperate forests I would ride
something that could fly like an airplane because
I wouldnt want to run over any trees or I would
ride on a deer so I could move around pretty fast.

Are you okay?
I would be a park ranger because I could help
animals when they need my help. I would be a
lumberjack so I can cut down trees for people to
make houses.
