AF USAs Fundraising Approaches

• Pass-through
• Through the initiative of donors with definite
  recipients in the Philippines
• Initiated by Philippine CSOs, asking their donors
  to use AF USAs donation facility
• Project-specific campaigns e.g., GILAS, a
  project that brings the Internet to all
  Philippine public high schools

Filipinos?

• Established various donation mechanisms, from
  bank deposit to credit cards and corporate
  matching gifts
• Road shows and presentations to Fil-Am
  associations and groups
• Established volunteer groups in key cities
• Information blasts through direct email campaign,
  website/e-bulletins
• Special events, corporate giving, media linkages

• A menu of Philippine projects that have shown
  results
• Tax deductibility incentives to donors
• Convenience of donation options
• (donations can be in the form of cash/checks,
  credit cards, telegraphic transfer,
  stocks/securities or matching gifts)
• Due diligence to ensure that the funds go
  directly to recipient organizations and are used
  for the designated purpose/s
• Progress reports and other feedback on supported
  projects
• Public acknowledgement of donors, if so desired
