Required to Take Attendance

• Official Withdrawal
• Date began schools withdrawal process
• Date otherwise provided notice of intent
• Unofficial withdrawals
• Category 1 Withdraw without notification due to
  circumstances beyond students control
• Date determined by the school
• May be the date of the event, or a related date
• Category 2 All other withdrawals without
  notification
• Midpoint of Payment Period or Period of
  Enrollment
• Documented date the school determines
  more-accurately reflects date ceased enrollment

• Schools not required to take attendance
• At least one passing grade
• No passing grades
• Academic grading policies

Using the Date of an Academically-Related
Activity

• Schools not required to take attendance
• May use the documented date of attendance at an
  academically-related activity
• If a student provides official notification and
  also attends an academically-related activity,
  school has a choice of these dates
• School should choose the date that most
  accurately reflects the students withdrawal date
