specifically to commission you as my
representatives in your parishes, and so promote
the Good News of Jesus Christ, to love God and
love one another. - There are many people in our midst who are in
need, and as a Christian community we are
challenged by the Gospel message to assist them
in whatever way we can.
20- Archbishop Poverty causes hopelessness and
despair. May people be free from the chains of
poverty so that they may live with hope and
dignity. - Lord bless us.
- All Lord, bless us and free us.
21- Archbishop Materialism causes greed and
jealousy. May people be free from the chains of
materialism so that the worlds wealth is shared
fairly. - Lord bless us.

22- Archbishop Racism causes division and
resentment. May people be free from the chains
of racism and prejudice so that all may live
with respect and acceptance. - All Lord, bless us and free us.

this message of concern for the poor heard. Use
your initiative to engage people in this core
work of the church and continue to pray for each
other as you go and reach out to others in the
