Moving from Routine to Responsibility
  • Routine or Responsibility
  • how am I living today?
  • Each of us has many routines. Some are good, some
    arent.
  • Routines help us get things done automatically
    without having to think.
  • When we are responsible we are forced to think
and to choose, beyond routine .

6
Moving from Routine to Responsibility
  • Share a story with the person next to you of a
time when you acted out of routine (i.e.
autopilot) and it caused a problem.
  • How would making a conscious choice at that time
    change what happened?

7
Being Responsible
  • Being an adult means being responsible
  • Growing up is learning to accept
  • responsibility for our life and our choices
  • Becoming a mature adult means accepting
responsibility for every aspect of life
  • relationships
  • use of time
  • choices
  • use of talents and abilities
  • money
  • use of possessions

    revenue.

12
PresentationFinancial Realities
  • Revenues
  • The primary area of revenue is the Offertory
Collection. Fundraisers can help, but never
    replace the Offertory Collection.

13
PresentationFinancial Realities
  • All the faithful are asked to prayerfully
  • consider what God is asking of them to give.
  • The guideline offered by the International
  • Catholic Stewardship Conference is
  • 5 of your income to your parish
  • 1 to your diocesan appeal
  • 4 to another favorite charity

14
PresentationFinancial Realities
  • Giving about 5 of your income looks like this
  • income donation
  • 20,000/yr 20/week
  • 40,000/yr 40/week
  • 60,000/yr 60/week
  • 80,000/yr 80/week
  • 100,000/yr 100/week

15
PresentationFinancial Realities
  • Actual Weekly Offertory
  • National statistics show that Catholics are
among the lowest givers, donating an average of
1.2 of their income to their parish. If this
statistic is true for your parish, offertory
could increase 2-4 times this amount if everyone
    gave the 5 donation goal.
